Tshifhiwa Kenneth Khohomela, better known as “Psalmist Kenny”, continues to touch the hearts of many gospel-music lovers with his soul-stirring music. In October last year, he recorded two tracks, titled “Give me the power Lord” and “Mudzimu wanga vha ya mpfuna”. These songs, which were recorded live, were finally released last month.

Psalmist Kenny’s music is not only captivating but also carries powerful messages of faith, hope, and love. His ability to connect with his listeners on a spiritual level is evident in every note he sings.

Born at Tshivhilwi village in 1980, his musical journey began at a young age within the confines of his church. As a member of the Sunday School choir, he honed his vocal skills and discovered his passion for music. In 2001, while singing at The Living Gospel World Mission in Malavuwe village, he realised his potential as a solo artist. This revelation propelled him to share his gift. Since then, he has performed alongside various gospel artists at different churches.

He says he was inspired by great gospel artists like Rebecca Malope, Rofhiwa Manyaga, the Soweto Gospel Choir, Benjamin Dube, Hlengiwe Mhlaba, and Lufuno Dagada.

In 2007, he released his debut album, “A huna ano fana na Yeso”, which garnered attention and appreciation from gospel-music fans. However, his second album, “Feel My Heart”, released in 2011, truly catapulted him into the spotlight. The album received extensive airplay on numerous radio stations, solidifying his position as a rising star on the gospel-music scene.

Not only is Psalmist Kenny a successful solo artist, but he is also a proud member of City Praise, a group that was established in May this year. Together, they aim to spread the message of hope and love through their music.

His music is now available on all major digital platforms.
