Mmbulaheni finally publishes his first Tshivenda storybook

Mashudu Mmbulaheni (54) from Shakadza is very proud to have finally published his first Tshivenda book of short stories, titled “Tshawela Khunduni Tshidikiliki”.

The book comprises nine stories, including "Vhusiku ndi dada”, “Khangala Ruda Mato”, “Vha shona na mukombo”, and “Olayayothe”. The short stories, all focused on modern-day life, can be enjoyed by readers of all age groups.

“I never wanted to write a book, but God had spoken, and I listened. Books are the most effective way to communicate a message and reach as many people as possible. The good part about books is that they continue to speak even to the coming generations,” he said.

Mmbulaheni said that his book related to the everyday lives of local people. “The collection is about what local people experience in their daily lives. I made sure that the stories are very short, to keep the interest of the readers. If one is a frequent reader, only six minutes are enough to finish reading one story. You can quickly ease your mind with this collection while waiting for public transport, cooking, or relaxing.”

“I would not have done justice if I didn’t pass my gratitude to all the people who encouraged me to keep on writing. It will be impossible to mention all their names because there are many,” said Mmbulaheni.

“My plan is to assist young writers to develop their writing skills and ultimately publish their work,” he added.
