Radio is a calling for Chizinator

Being on radio is not just a job for Univen FM presenter Chizinator. For Mutshidzi Rambau, this is a calling she has embraced with love and passion. Known as The Chizinator or Deep Voice, she quickly earned respect as a polished presenter at Univen Radio.

Rambau grew up in Madombidzha, Sinthumule District, where radio was an integral part of daily life for her family. “I fell in love with radio at a very young age. It was like our daily bread at home, and I couldn’t ignore it. I always dreamed of reading news behind the microphone,” she reminisces.

Her big break came in 2022 when she joined Univen FM. “Since then, I haven’t looked back, and my star keeps rising,” she says. In 2023, she was recognised for her talent as a finalist in the Top Eight Phalaphala FM Thodela Vhukoni Talent Search. “Though I didn’t win and was eliminated early, it only motivated me further. It made me realise I am a unique and skilled radio presenter,” she reflects.

Rambau believes in taking criticism and compliments constructively to grow without being discouraged. “I am a hardworking and inspiring woman, striving to achieve my dreams.”

Besides her role as a news reader and presenter, Rambau is also a producer at the station. Outside of radio, she pursues a master’s degree in environmental science at the University of Venda. She is known for her versatility, having hosted nearly every show at the station and also serving as a tutor.
