'Listen to your parents,' Martin B tells children on his new EP

Musician Martin B has come out strongly against children who do not listen to their parents, stating that they will never achieve anything good in life.

The 24-year-old musician from Halambani Madandila outside Thohoyandou, whose full name is Pfariso Martin Mudzanani, released a captivating new EP titled “Funguvhu” last week, on which he discusses matters such as obedience.

This is Martin B’s second release, following his highly successful EP “Batista,” which was released in 2023.

His latest EP was recorded at Sheshisa Music Production, and he enlisted the help of notable musicians such as Callback, Natural Black, Doc Bang, DJ Exphonic, Vhugala DE Singer, Mr Halambani, Chris Boy, Leminho Nwakhadzie, and Mr Dhudus. It features delightful tracks such as “Ndi Funa Ene,” “Tshidakwa,” and the title track, “Funguvhu.”

Martin B said the new EP was inspired by and served as a warning to children who no longer respect and listen to their parents. “Parents expect good things from their children, but this is not happening these days. Children today have lost focus; they no longer listen to elders and end up living wayward lives that lead them to trouble. Some drop out of school while others end up in jail,” he said. The musician advised young people to listen to and respect their parents and elders.

Martin B’s music journey started in 2015 while he was still a Grade 6 learner at Mmbofheni Primary School. “I started off playing drums at the local Will of God Church and developed a keen interest in music, initially concentrating only on drums,” he said.

He was encouraged to try singing by his mentor, Mr Vhugala Netshivhodza, and the rest is history. “I am determined to make it big in the music industry. The response after the release of ‘Funguvhu’ is phenomenal. If things go according to plan, I will drop a massive bombshell before the end of the year,” he said.
