Advocate Joseph Baloyi, a clergyman from Bungeni, launched his first book, Living Beyond Brokenness: The Journey of Restoration, Healing, and Wholeness, on 21 September. The launch took place at the Hlanganani Phase 2 soccer ground during the celebration of his two-year ministry, Christ Fire Gospel Mission.

Baloyi’s book is based on his personal experiences in overcoming adversity, heartbreak, and spiritual challenges. In a world often characterised by brokenness, he aims to empower readers by sharing life-changing lessons rooted in his faith in Jesus Christ.

“My goal is to empower readers to rise above their circumstances. I have also included prayer points for restoration, healing, and wholeness,” he said. “This book reflects my passion to help others navigate through darkness and find wholeness in Christ.”

A pivotal moment in Baloyi’s writing journey came when he fully understood the concept of brokenness. He explained that we live in a broken world, and the challenges we face highlight our need for restoration, healing, and wholeness through Jesus Christ.

“At my lowest point—broke and hopeless—I cried out to God, wishing I had never been born. I nearly gave up, but God reminded me that I was called to rise above brokenness, marking the beginning of my healing journey,” he said.

Rather than giving in to despair, Baloyi found hope, realising that his brokenness was an opportunity for God’s redemption. With renewed faith, he established his legal practice and wrote his book to inspire others. “To find wholeness, I prioritised spiritual growth through prayer, fellowship, Bible study, and worship,” he added.
