Amid the challenges faced by local artists in the music industry, The Landlords, a dynamic duo from Maila Village, have recently released a single titled Aifheli. This song reflects the struggles they encounter on their musical journey and aims to resonate with fellow artists navigating similar obstacles.

Gift Ramashidzha, known as Gee Rams, and Leo Munyai, known as LeoArr, both agree that a special kind of resilience is needed to thrive in the music industry. They are currently working on their second joint EP, which will feature collaborations with well-known artists such as King Mizo Phyll and The Capable Boyz.

“Through this track, we aimed to convey the resilience and determination that have carried us through the toughest times. Despite facing numerous setbacks and closed doors, we refused to surrender, and Aifheli stands as proof of our unwavering commitment,” said LeoArr.

LeoArr explained that the song also sought to encourage other artists to overcome obstacles and never give up, no matter the challenge. He said that Aifheli had become an iconic anthem, earning widespread acclaim and solidifying their connection with fans. “Its infectious energy electrifies our performances, as fans passionately sing every word, showcasing the song's enduring impact,” he said.

LeoArr’s journey into hip-hop began in 2020, while Gee Rams ventured into the Amapiano genre in early 2023, exploring new musical landscapes with a passion for innovation. Their paths crossed at the University of Venda’s Simeka Residence, where their shared living spaces turned into late-night jam sessions and collaborative songwriting.

This collaboration led to the formation of The Landlords, a musical force to be reckoned with. Growing up together in the same village, they developed a deep connection that later shaped their intertwined destinies in music.

They plan to release their joint EP with UbberBlack before the end of this year.
