Away matches for Chippas and Stars

The fight for league champions and also to avoid relegation at the end of the season will continue among the teams affiliated to the Limpopo Stream of the Sasol Women’s League this weekend.

Eight matches will be played throughout the province over the weekend. Two of the three Vhembe based sides, Chippas United Ladies and Shayandima Morning Stars, will play their matches away from home.

Chippas will travel to Botlokwa tomorrow, where they will test their strength against the Botlokwa Ladies at the Sefene High School grounds. The Chippas technical team are still battling to find a winning combination. The team’s performance has been deteriorating with time in the past weeks. Botlokwa must keep a watchful eye on the Chippas’ midfielders, Maggie Mukhuwana, Makwana Mashalane and Mokgadi Senyolo or else they will not know what will have hit them at the end of the day.

Although Chippas are currently fighting for survival, the club’s chairman, Mr Robson Magoro, is adamant that his side will soon make a comeback.

Shayandima Morning Stars will visit Mandebele Happy Fighters at the Mandebele grounds in Zebediela. Morning Stars are one of the close contenders for the league title and a win against Mandebele will add more pressure to the pace setters, Maindis Ladies.

Maindis Ladies will host Sisters FC at the Capricorn FET College campus grounds, while Tshandama Young Stars will visit the Kanatla Ladies at the Nylstroom Hoërskool grounds. The rookies, First Touch Academy, will host the University of Limpopo at the Ladanna grounds in Polokwane.

Mphanama Ladies will enjoy home ground advantage in their match against Samba Girls at the Mphanama grounds. Real Mighty Ladies will lock horns with Re Tla Dira at the Dipitsi grounds.

On Sunday Moria Sweepers will play against Seven Stars at the Moria grounds.
