Teams affiliated to the Limpopo Stream of the ABC Motsepe League will be busy this weekend. Only one match will be played this afternoon (Friday), while the rest of the fixtures will be played at various venues throughout the province tomorrow afternoon.
After playing to a goalless draw with Berachah Valley at the Tshifudi Stadium last Saturday, Venda Football Academy (VFA) will enjoy the home-ground advantage once again this weekend. They will host The Dolphins FC at the same venue tomorrow afternoon. Although they are currently lying in the third position on the log standings, VFA’s promotional chances are slim.
They are 11 points behind the pace setters, Magesi FC. Magesi and The Dolphins are almost in a similar situation when it comes their chances of being promoted. The Dolphins are perched in the fourth spot on the log with 24 points, two behind VFA. The Dolphins played to a 2-2 draw with Ngwaabe City Motors at the Ben Serake Stadium outside Polokwane last Saturday. VFA will pin their hopes on Rudzani Thabo, Unarine Kudzingana and Tswabutla Mosima for goals, while Ofhani Vele and Jabu Malungani are expected to keep their danger area clean throughout the game.
Mikhado FC will travel to Hamanamela Sports Field outside Polokwane, where their match against Magesi FC will take place. Should they fail to collect the maximum points against Magesi, Mikhado must forget about winning the league title this season. Mikhado are lying in the second position on the log with 30 points, seven behind Magesi FC.
Tshakhuma RO Nandilani (TRON) will undertake a journey to Sekhukhune, where they will battle with Berachah Valley at the Mefefe Sports Field. Lavhelesani Mukomafhedzi, Dakalo Nemakonde and Khuliso Phosiwa are some of TRON’s players Valley must keep an eye on.
The other ABC Motsepe League weekend fixtures are: Ngwaane City Motors vs Polokwane City Academy, Giyani Happy Boys vs Ndengeza FC, Makotopong Brazil vs Mighty FC and Ditlou FC vs Ollesdal FC.
