The Louis Trichardt SPCA hosted their fifth annual golf day at the Soutpansberg Golf Club on Saturday, 8 May. To date, this has been their biggest ever golf day, with a full field of four-ball teams teeing off.

“We are so incredibly humbled and thankful to each person who contributed in any way to help make our golf day such a huge success once again and one to look forward to on the yearly calendar. Without the amazing support of our community, it would not have been possible,” said the SPCA team.

The day was won by the Levubu Bore team, consisting of Brink Schlesinger, Johan Pretorius (Blokkies), Warno Smit en Johan Breytenbach. Their winning score was 111 points. In second place was the Newco Meat Shayandima team, consisting of Francois Jonker, Waldo van Deemter, Beukes Haasbroek en Wikus Botes. They accumulated 108 points. Third place went to the “Koshuis Matras” team, with teammates Rampie Gilfillan, Anton Pretorius, Maarten Venter en Tinus Pretorius. Dressed in matching 1970s flower-pattern, mattress-fabric suits, the team managed to amass 104 points. In addition, the team was also voted the team with the best team spirit.

“Thank you, Louis Trichardt and our surrounding community, for your continuous support towards our SPCA. Thank you for helping us to be their voice, helping us to speak for those who cannot speak for themselves! Your support and contributions will make such a huge difference in the lives of so many animals in need. We hope to see you all again next year!” said the SPCA team. A complete list of all the sponsors appears on the SPCA Louis Trichardt’s Facebook page.
