Following their 0-4 defeat by Baroka FC in the Motsepe Foundation Championship League match at the Global Stadium in Lebowakgomo last Sunday, Black Leopards face a challenging week ahead. They have two crucial matches within the span of four days.

Lidoda Duvha’s first battle will be against Milford FC at the Thohoyandou Stadium on Saturday afternoon. They will again host Maritzburg United at the same venue on Tuesday, October 31.

Black Leopards must secure a minimum of four points in these two matches to restore their lost pride. Mr Solly Luvhengo, the team’s assistant coach, emphasised that everyone in their camp understood that collecting points in these two home matches was vital for reviving their promotion hopes.

While Black Leopards are still struggling to find a winning combination, Milford are in good form, having won their last two matches. Milford defeated Casric Stars 2-0 at the Solomon Mahlangu Stadium in Siyabuswa three weeks ago and once again secured the maximum points against Venda Football Club, winning 2-0 at the Princess Magogo Stadium in Durban last Friday.

As a result of these victories, Milford have climbed to the 10^th position in the league standings. Black Leopards, on the other hand, dropped from 10^th to 13^th place after their loss to Baroka.

Should Black Leopards manage to beat Milford on Saturday, they will be expected to, at the very least, hold Maritzburg United to a draw on Tuesday. Maritzburg United are one of the top contenders for the league title, currently sitting in the second position on the league standings with 15 points, just four points behind the leaders, Orbit College FC.
