31ste Hanglip 54 het reeds vandag afgeslaan

Een van die streek se grootste toernooie op die gholfkalender, die jaarlikse Hanglip 54-toernooi, word vanaf 4 tot 6 Julie vir die 31ste keer deur die Soutpansberg Gholfklub in Louis Trichardt aangebied.

Vanjaar se kompetisie sal weer ’n vol veld van 128 spelers lok, met die fokus wat weereens op besoekende spelers sal wees. Vanjaar is 76 spelers besoekers met die nou-reeds-bekende “Klerksdorp groep” wat 32 spelers daarvan opmaak. Die res van die veld is plaaslike spelers. Baie druk rus op die plaaslike spelers, aangesien hulle lanklaas die gesogte Hanglip 54-trofee omhoog kon lig. Verlede jaar het oud-klublid Rampie Gilfillan as besoeker die trofee gewen. Hy sal vanjaar sy titel kom verdedig.

Hoe die toernooi werk is dat spelers in spanne van twee elke dag in ’n beterbal Stableford-kompetisie meeding. Elke dag lewer dus twee wenners op. Die algehele wenner is egter die speler wat die beste individuele Stableford-telling oor al drie dae aanteken.

Anders as vorige jare borg spesifieke instansies nie die drie dae se spel nie, maar ‘n kombinasie van borge. Hierdie borge sluit in Northgate Lodge, PJ Timbers, Oasis Water, Grainfield Chickens, Soutpansberg Koelkamers, Limpopo Toerisme, NTT Isuzu, Spar en The Pro Shop Woodmead.

Within a couple of months he moved over to the production side of the newspaper and eventually doubled as a reporter. Local sports club Isability is inviting community members to attend the PTY-Fit-to-Fly event, which will be held at Louis Trichardt High School’s Leeupark on Saturday, 5 October. “Fit-to-fly” is the name of one of Isability’s outreach projects, providing assistive devices to children with mobility impairments in Vhembe. New leaders for Thulamela LFA

The Thulamela Local Football Association (LFA) is no longer under administration. New leaders were elected during the association’s elective congress, held at the Thohoyandou Indoor Sports Centre last Saturday. The association was placed under administration in December last year, following several months of internal leadership disputes.

After defeating Orbit College FC 1-0 in their Motsepe Foundation Championship League match at Olympia Park Stadium outside Rustenburg last Sunday, Black Leopards are now determined to collect more points when they meet Pretoria Callies at Thohoyandou Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
