While most Motsepe Foundation Championship clubs have given their players a few days off, following last weekend’s league games, things are different at Black Leopards' camp.

The league has taken a two-week break because the national team, Bafana Bafana, is playing two African Cup of Nations qualifying matches in four days. Bafana will host Congo Brazzaville on Friday evening and face the same team again at the Stade Alphonse Massemba-Débat in Congo Brazzaville next Tuesday, 15 October.

Unlike the majority of clubs, Black Leopards granted their players only one day of rest after their match against Hungry Lions FC last Saturday. The team returned to training on Monday morning. Head coach Maxwell Konadu explained that the break would be used to address the team's weaknesses. He expressed concern over their missed scoring opportunities in recent games.

The Ghanaian coach mentioned that his team could have scored at least 10 goals in their last two games. He felt that their 2-0 win over Pretoria Callies at the Thohoyandou Stadium did not reflect their dominance. According to him, "Lidoda Duvha" could have overwhelmed both Callies and Hungry Lions, had luck been on their side.

Konadu also revealed that the team had scheduled several friendly matches with Betway Premiership and Motsepe Foundation Championship teams in the coming days. He emphasised that the focus during these matches would be on improving the strikers’ accuracy and finishing.

Black Leopards' next official fixture will be against JDR Stars at the Lucas Moripe Stadium, outside Pretoria, on Saturday, 19 October.
