Mash Sarila, a young singer from Rotterdam village, is currently doing a tri-city music and book tour in three of the USA’s entertainment cities.
This is a cultural exchange programme that he is participating in with two authors from the VK1012 Productions platform, Reagile Selepe and Collen Nxumalo, accompanied by their manager, Gontse Selepe.
Mash is a talented Afro-RnB and hip-hop singer and sings in both English and Xitsonga. “I want to be an African icon, using my mother tongue in my music, because I believe music is a universal language,” he said.
His latest offering, Gold or Nothing, showcases his vocal skills and musical versatility. “The album stamps the intensity of my production skills, as it caters for different sounds that accommodate everyone, irrespective of age, gender, culture and religion,” he said.
Sarila said that from a young age he was aware that his destiny was to make music. “This was confirmed when I didn’t want to use my B Sc degree to find work but rather pursued music as a career on a full-time basis.”
It became apparent for him that his choice was the best when artists such as Zola 7 recruited him to be an in-house producer. He then later collaborated with international artists such as Daniella Cassetti from Chile, and Joi Barua from India.
His song No Love is available for download on iTunes, Google Play, DataFileHost and other online stores. The official music video, shot and directed by Kyle White TV, has been released and is available on YouTube.
