Sir McKleker keeps the dance floors ablaze

The sounds of the heavyweight producer, singer and music engineer Sir McKleker could not be supressed by the harsh storms of the Covid-19 pandemic that had brought live performances to a halt.

Apart from the fact that this artist continues to send out musical vibrations from the sanctity of his studio and the evergreen mountains at Phiphidi village, where he also takes beautiful pictures while mixing his music in a mobile recording studio, Sir McKleker recently released a single track, titled Khatshiri.

“This was recorded as a gift to all my die-hard fans out there, and I am glad that it is well appreciated by many people,” he said. “This song had come after my exploration of African sounds and rhythms. I had infused that with my earlier style of beats after I had realised that my fans seemed to like my old songs more, and that’s the reason why I decided to create a song which had [the] familiarity of older ones. Finally, I won the hearts of many music lovers with Khatshiri, because it leans more on a fusion of Afro-congo and Afro-beats.”

Sir McKleker, who was based in Gauteng, is an artist who had packed his bags and returned to Vhembe District with the sole purpose of grooming new musical talent and flinging them into stardom. His decision, which he took 15 years ago, had made all the difference for the good of local music scene.

“While I had set up the Interactive Solid Waves Entertainment (Iswe) music stable and recording company, I was mainly focusing on beat-making, recording, and producing mainly artists who paid for studio time,” he said.

Sir McKleker, who was born Aluwani Nemaranzhe at Phiphidi near Thohoyandou, created some hits under his own name, such as Rithelela, Tapanyedza and Butukedza, which all kept dancers requesting more.

“My footprint in the music industry is evident in the music projects [of] many singers who even went on to win more music awards after I had produced their music, and that gives my heart the kind of joy that keeps me striving for doing more music of unique but familiar appeal,” he said. “I am currently on a project which will surely shake the world, and I can only tell my fans to watch this space for details.”

Sir McKleker is available on Facebook and can be reached on 079 066 0929.
