Hundreds of families and music enthusiasts gathered at Babylon Leisure Park in Thohoyandou for the second annual Spring Mega Festival on Saturday 14 October. Featuring a musical lineup comprising established, well-known musicians, bands, as well as up-and-coming local artists and DJs, the event was the place to be.

Once again, the festival catered to a wide range of music genres, including commercial, reggae, gospel, traditional, house, and rap, ensuring that everyone in attendance had something to enjoy.

This year’s lineup included the talented Fortunator, Vhuyie Da DJ, Gusba Banana, Rofhiwa Nethwadzi, Ramzee, Asa Tee, Palesa Ravele, Rudekid Venda, Duzee Da DJ, Capable Boyz, Lutroo Da Music, DJ Butylizer, DJ Jahleecot, and many other local favourites.

The show’s promoter and the mastermind behind it all, Ms. Patience Dagada, expressed extreme satisfaction with the turnout. She said, “This was by far the best show so far, compared to how we started last year. All the artists gave their best, and I cannot single one out. Our aim is to provide families with an opportunity to enjoy the environment, to sit down, chat, and interact while celebrating the positive aspects of life under the sun, enjoying good local music and food. The kids enjoy playing on the jumping castles and swimming, while the adults relish the picnic setup.”

Dagada revealed that they have already begun planning for next year’s event, promising an even more improved show. She said, “Live shows give fans the opportunity to be part of the magic of their beloved artists. It also offers attendees the chance to share in the same creativity, thrill, energy, euphoria, loud screams, and dancing that come with the vibe. This is the kind of festival that changes the way you experience things forever.”
