Adolf Madondo gets nominated for three Royal Gospel Awards

The future is looking bright indeed for gospel musician Adolf Madondo from Dopeni village outside Thohoyandou who has just released his latest single, “Yehova Ndi Enene”, this year. The single has already earned him multiple nominations for the 2024 Royal Gospel Music Awards in the Best Modern Artist, New Upcoming Artist, and Best Male Artist categories.

Madondo’s musical journey started during his formative years as a staunch member of the Tshikombani ZCC, where he was a choir leader. “Yehova Ndi Enene”, recorded at Planet Music Productions in Pretoria, follows two previous gospel albums, titled “Moya Waka” (released in 2016) and “Yehova ndi Mulisa Wanga” (released in 2020). In producing the single, Madondo worked with the likes of Mike Manenzhe, Abby Tshinada, and Patrick Madondo.

“I preach the gospel through my music. In this single, I am trying to answer the many questions that were left after the mysterious death of my mother in 2022. She simply collapsed and died. We can say all we want, but there is only one Being who has all the answers, and that is God. He has the answers to all our problems, and we have to believe in Him,” he said.

Regarding his nominations, he said these meant a lot to him. “It shows that what I am doing is being taken seriously out there. I feel very honoured as a singer, and I am putting all my hopes on my fans.
