Munzhedzi Tshamutilikwa UAAC launches single in honour of women

To honour women and celebrate Valentine's Day, the Munzhedzi Tshamutilikwa UAAC Choir, one of the oldest Apostolic Gospel groups in Limpopo, released a new single titled “Takadzana Nae”, which translates to “Make her happy”.

The single was recorded at Ishy Malala’s TSHAU Studio at Tshaulu outside Thohoyandou in September last year but was officially launched at the Tshamutilikwa UAAC Branch on 14 February.

Choir leader and spokesperson Pastor Zacharia Munzhedzi said the launch was purposely delayed to coincide with Valentine's Day. “Women form an integral part of our church and the community. We have honoured them and given them all the respect they deserve. We felt the song would be meaningless if not launched on a special day. This is the best Valentine’s Day present for all women out there,” he said.

The Munzhedzi Tshamutilikwa UAAC choir was formed by musician Mr. Zacharia Munzhedzi a long time ago, but waited until 2005 to release their first professional album “Tahulela Ndila”. They have since released 13 other albums and four DVDs.

Presently, the group has 45 members, but over the years, many have come and gone.

The group has been nominated for numerous awards, including the prestigious Tshivenda Music Awards, and has also performed at events such as the Royal Gardens Festival. The group was also a familiar sight during the heydays of Black Leopards, entertaining fans during matches at Thohoyandou Stadium.
