Academic and wordsmith Dr Ndavheleseni Albert Mbada has strongly urged those aspiring to venture into music to prioritise education first. Dr Mbada, who serves as the director of extracurricular development at Tshwane University of Technology, released his debut single titled “Ndo vha ndi tshi ya fhi” last month.

The single includes three songs – “Ndo vha ndi tshi ya fhi” “My Tears,” and “Fake Life” –  and is already making a significant impact in the competitive music industry. The music is available on all digital music platforms.

Dr Mbada emphasised the importance of education for anyone looking to launch a successful career in today’s world. His impressive academic qualifications include two master’s degrees and a PhD in education management. He has a rich professional background, having worked as a teacher at Vhudzani Secondary School, Vhafamadi Finishing Centre, and Mahareng Secondary School in the Gauteng Province. He also held the position of senior education specialist with the Gauteng Department of Education at Tshwane South District and served in various roles at Tshwane University of Technology, culminating in his current position.

Born and raised in Hamashau Bodwe and now residing in Hamashau Extension, Mbada is also a skilled author, having published two books: “Ndi yone mini yeneyi” (drama) and “Mbiluni ya Thavha” (poetry). His creative writing skills have earned him recognition as one of the best radio drama writers in the country. He has written radio dramas for Phalaphala FM and the now-defunct Radio Thohoyandou, with his most famous work being “Hu nukha Malofha.”

In an interview with Limpopo Mirror, Dr Mbada credited his love of music to his friend, Prince Nyadzawela, who also produced his debut single. “We have been together for many years, and I used to visit his studio until I developed a love for music,” he said. “I didn’t want to rush to release my music because I needed enough time to prepare myself to offer music lovers something mature and appealing to those with an intelligent ear for music. My music is unique and carries messages that both young and old can relate to with ease,” he said.
