All systems are up and running for this weekend’s Silala Music Festival Episode 1, with no expense being spared in preparation for the event. The much-awaited event will be hosted at the Berea Madzonga Resort in Niani, Zwigodini.

Festival organiser Mr Malume Shinabya said in an interview with Limpopo Mirror this week that everything was in place for the big event. Shinabya mentioned that the festival had contributed immensely towards the development of culture as many youths were involved and learnt a lot from the old and experienced groups that would also participate in the festival. “We expect thousands of people to attend this event, and it will have a positive spinoff for our local businesspeople,” he added.

Shinabya said that the event aimed to introduce aspiring artists to the world of music as they performed and showcased their talent. “This festival will create a platform for sharing and exposing the talents of our local artists,” he said. Shinabya assured music lovers that they would not be disappointed by the musicians’ performances.

“We are leaving nothing to chance as we will be roping in the best in our area. This is a festival no one will be likely to forget,” he said.

Some of the well-known artists who will be gracing the stage include the legendary Colbert Mukwevho, Zimbabwean star Alic Macheso, Slizer from Botswana, Zozo, Tshigomboza, Cyria, Pablo, and many more.

Shinabya warned those buying their tickets on the black market not to waste their time coming to the show as they will not be allowed inside. Tickets cost R150 per person at the gate or at Shoprite/Checkers (Computicket). VIP tickets cost R500 and VVIP tickets go for R2,000.

Phalaphala FM will be broadcasting live from the venue, with “Blue Monkey,” “Devhulahambe,” and veteran presenter Mpho “Jantyby” Nefale at the venue.
