Will Baroka pay for Black Leopards’ defeat?

Sport - Date: 20 October 2023

Black Leopards will take on Baroka FC at the Global Stadium in Lebowakgomo in one of the two Motsepe Foundation Championship League matches that will be played on Sunday afternoon. The assistant coach of Black Leopards, Mr Solly Luvhengo, is optimistic that nothing will stop them from collecting the full points at stake against Baroka.

Luvhengo said that everyone in their camp was aware of the fact that giving away vital points to Baroka on Sunday will adversely affect their mission to win the league title or to partake in the promotional playoffs at the end of the season.

When asked how he viewed his team’s chances of gaining promotion to the elite league with the current squad, the former Munaca FC’s head coach said that they had a lot of talent in their camp. He said that their Namibian striker, Bethuel Muzeu, had fully recovered from injury after he was taken off the pitch on a stretcher in their game against JDR Stars at the Thohoyandou Stadium towards the end of last month.

Baroka are in the right frame of mind, following their 1-0 victory over Venda Football Club in their last league game at the Malamulele Stadium two weeks ago. Lidoda duvha, on the other hand, were beaten 0-1 by the University of Pretoria at the Absa Tuks Stadium in Pretoria two weeks ago.
