Tshikota High’s soccer team will represent the Vhembe region in the provincial U/19 Motsepe Cup, which will be played in Polokwane. Tshikota defeated Mamvuka High 1-0 in the Vhembe final, which was held at Musina on Saturday.

Tshikota High's coach, Mr. Justice Matloga, said that they were going all out to win the competition again. He added that rewarding the loyal community of Vhembe who had supported the team from the beginning was important. He expressed satisfaction with the school’s performance this year and noted that their preparations were well underway. “My boys are looking forward to this challenge,” he said.

Matloga mentioned that the team has received tremendous support from the school principal and teachers. “Just reaching the provincial finals has boosted the boys' confidence and motivation,” he added.

He said the players were excited about going to the finals. “I’m happy to be the coach who has made it possible for them to get this far in the competition this year,” he said.

The U/15 girls champions who will represent Vhembe in the provincial play-offs are Sinthumule High, while the U/13 boys regional winners are St Martins. The U/15 boys winners in Vhembe are Vhafamadi High, and the U/13 girls winners were Mulweli Primary.
