Mr Papi Zothwane, Black Leopards' new assistance coach.

Leopards will be promoted this season, says new assistant coach

Black Leopards will be campaigning in the DStv Premiership League come next season if the utterances of the team’s assistant coach, Mr Papi Zothwane, are anything to go by. Zothwane was seated on the team’s technical bench for the first time in their league game against Platinum City Rovers at the Thohoyandou Stadium last Saturday. Black Leopards won the game 3-1.

During an interview with him after the game, Zothwane was quick to mention that Black Leopards will collect enough points in their remaining matches and gain promotion to the elite division at the end of the season. He said that judging from his observations since his arrival in the camp, he is optimistic that nothing will stop the team from gaining promotion to the top league. He reckoned that a lot of talent is available in the Leopards’ camp. The former Uthongathi FC head coach said that his mandate is to promote the team come the end of the season.

Zothwane has commended the current head coach of the team, Mr Solly Luvhengo. According to him, Luvhengo has assembled a formidable squad. He appealed to the football followers to watch the space after their next four matches.

Born in Vanderbijlpark 42 years ago, Zothwane began his career as a professional soccer player at Maritzburg United way back in 2003. He later moved to Lamontville Golden Arrows, from where he migrated to Mamelodi Sundowns in search of greener pastures. Bloemfontein Celtic is the last team he played for before his retirement from his childhood sport.
