Stiff fines for MMK League teams

 

Marhavi FC was fined R14,000 for assaulting a referee, invading the field of play by their chairman, and assaulting an official from FC Basel. They were also found guilty of causing the match to be abandoned. Additionally, Marhavi forfeited three league points to Basel.

This was one of the punishments handed out to defaulting teams during the Safa Vhembe MMK League's disciplinary hearing held in Thohoyandou on Saturday.

During the meeting, Matika FC was found guilty of refusing to play without getting the necessary permission from the referee and failing to provide adequate security at their home ground during their match against Tshikhwani Stone Breakers. They received a fine of R3,000 and forfeited points to Stone Breakers.

Mango Soccer Academy also received a fine of R3,000 for failing to provide adequate security at their home ground during their match against Madombidzha Arsenal. Mango also forfeited three league points to Arsenal.

Mirra Blackpool was fined R3,000 for failing to mark the soccer field properly, causing the match against Madombidzha Chris United to be abandoned. Three match points were also awarded to United.

Matika FC was fined R3,000 for failing to honour their match against Madombidzha Try Again and forfeited three league points to Try Again. Madombidzha Chris United was fined R3,000 for failing to provide the venue for their match against Daniel Mubva FC, and three points were awarded to their opponents.

Buluni Happy Boys were found guilty of assaulting the referee and causing the match against Zwaloni Young Stars to be abandoned. They were fined R9,000 and forfeited three points to Stars.

Matshavhawe Come To See appeared before the DC to answer to a charge of indirectly causing the abandonment of their league match against Dopeni Happy Boys and assaulting the match referee. They were fined R7,000 and forfeited league points to their opponents. Additionally, their player, Fhulufhelo Tshikombeni, was suspended for six matches.
