Busy weekend awaits with eight ABC Foundation clashes

Sport - Date: 30 August 2024

Following the success of the opening matches played at the Khubvi Benjie’s Grounds last Sunday, it will be another busy weekend for the teams affiliated with the ABC Foundation Soccer Tournament. Four matches will be played at the Khubvi Benjie’s Grounds on Saturday, with the same number of matches scheduled for Sunday.

Saturday’s programme will kick off with the match between Tshishivhe Tiger Boys and Matsika Shooting Stars, scheduled to start at 09:00. Makonde Home Defenders will meet Saudi FC in the second fixture. The much-anticipated match between Malavuwe Great Movers and ABC FC will follow at 13:00. Sparks are expected to fly when Tshamutilikwa Fire Boys and Thohoyandou Manchester Flying Stars face off in the final match of the day.

Whether Manchester Flying Stars will seek revenge for their 3-4 defeat to Mulodi Freedom Birds in their semi-final match of the Lumveleni Spring Soccer Tournament at the Ngudza Grounds last Saturday remains to be seen. The combination of Vuwani Masakona and Hulani Mphephu in the Flying Stars’ midfield is expected to keep the Fire Boys’ defence on high alert throughout the game.

On Sunday, Anel Real Vikings and Tshikundamalema Waterfall will open the programme at 09:00. Gondeni Big Cat will then take on Mulodi Freedom Birds in the next fixture. Rams Soccer Academy will test their strength against Mashamba Soccer Academy at 13:00. Eagles United and Sambandou United Professional will meet later in the afternoon.
