The recently founded Muphirimia Foundation has launched a campaign to discover hidden music talents among the disabled in Vhembe. The foundation was initiated by Humbulani Nengovhela, a disabled presenter at Phalaphala FM, known as Muphirimia.

Dubbed the “Muphirimia Foundation Disabled Music Talent Auditions,” the talent show will take place at the Maniini Camp of Armies Church International on 6 July, starting at 11:00.

Nengovhela explained that the initiative aimed to uncover the musical talents of disabled artists in Vhembe. “We want to tap into their hidden potential and talent. This is their opportunity to create quality music ready for the market,” he said.

He expressed concern that music companies and promoters often overlook disabled individuals for festivals and gigs. “Through initiatives like this, we aim to build a pool of disabled musicians who can perform and compete at a high level. We will also organise shows to showcase their talent and help them generate income. Additionally, they will receive training in the business aspects of the industry,” Nengovhela added.
