GIYANI – Dynamos Football Club are optimistic that they will be among the four teams that will participate in the Telkom Charity Cup early next month.
According to the club's Public Relations Officer, Mr Pastor Mafumo, they have all that it takes not only to take part in the competition, but to bring the cup to Limpopo Province for the first time in history.
Although Mafumo was happy about the manner in which the supporters are voting for the club, he encouraged them not to look back, saying that the competition was becoming hotter by the day. He revealed that they will embark on a roadshow campaign with a view towards alerting people about the importance of voting for the club.
According to him, the show will commence early next week. Some of the places that will be visited during the road show include Tzaneen, Lenyenye, Nwamitwa, Nkowankowa, Thohoyandou and the surrounding villages. A full programme for the show will be available this afternoon (Friday).
Mafumo has further stated that they have acquired a sponsor for the show. He said that the South African Bottling Company had offered them a truck that they will utilize during their road show. Not only did Mafumo appeal to the residents of Limpopo to vote for Dynamos but he also encouraged them to promote their neighbours, Black Leopards, to the top four teams that will partake in the one-day tournament.
The Telkom Charity Cup matches will be played at Soccer City in Johannesburg on Saturday, August 2. Dynamos and Black Leopards were leading the pack with the majority of the votes up to Wednesday morning.
Mafumo further revealed that Dynamos have signed Josia Makamu and Martin Carelse from Kaizer Chiefs, with the aim of beefing up their current squad.
