MUDULUNI – The days of playing their league matches without sponsorship is part of history for the clubs that are affiliated to the Zoutpansberg District Football Association, Zofa.
This follows the decision by the management of the Limpopo Dairy to sponsor the association.
The official launching ceremony of the sponsorship was held at Muduluni School last Thursday. During the ceremony, the managing Director of the compeny Mr Tobias Fourie stated that he was impressed by the fact that teams from Zofa are producing professional players. He cited Vusi Kharivhe and Phumudzo Manenzhe, who are now playing for Black Leopards and Orlando Pirates respectively as an example. Kharivhe and Manenzhe are the former players of Madombidzha Arsenal and Gogobole Bucs respectively. He urged the asociation to continue with their good work of unearthing the hidden talents.
During the ceremomy Mr Fourie handed over a cheque to the value of R10 000 to the president of the association Mr TJ Maphaha. The Deputy President of the SAFA NPER, Mr Victor Ravhuanzwo praised the clubs for the understanding and tolerance that they had displayed during the past decayed. According to him, Zofa has been run without sponsorship for the past ten years.
He also expresssed his gratitude to the sponsors and appealed to the other local bussinesmen to follow suit. He assured the sponsors that the money will be utilized in a responsible manner.
The guests were entertained by the Mighty Voices Choir.
