Last weekend proved to be a good one for the National First Division League travellers. Only one home victory was recorded over the past weekend.
The lone home victory occurred on Sunday afternoon, with Real Kings defeating Mthatha Bucks 1-0 at the King Zwelithini Stadium in Durban. The goal that earned Kings the three points came via Philip Mokoena in the 49th minute. Real Kings moved to the 10th spot on the log, following the result.
Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila (TTM) shared the glory with Uthongathi FC, following their goalless draw at the Princess Magogo Stadium in Durban. The draw was as good as victory for TTM as history shows that Uthongathi are not easy to beat in their own backyard.
Stellenbosch FC surrendered their log leadership to Highlands Park, following their goalless draw with Pretoria University at the Athlone Stadium in Cape Town. On the other hand, the only goal in their game against Black Leopards was good enough to push Highlands Park to the top of the log.
Highlands Park are tied with Stellenbosch FC with 16 points each accumulated from nine outings. Mothobi Mvala scored the Park’s goal with a header to ensure that his side go back to Thembisa with the maximum points.
Super Eagles suffered a 0-2 defeat at the hands of Jomo Cosmos at the Goble Park Stadium in Bethlehem. Norman Skhosana and Velly Dlamini scored Cosmos’s goals in the 34th and 78th minute respectively.
In their Mpumalanga derby at the Kanyamazane Stadium in Nelspruit, Witbank Spurs beat Mbombela United 2-0. Sabelo Nyembe was on target in the 47th minute. He completed his brace in the 54th minute. Ubuntu Cape Town and Richards Bay FC played to a 1-1 draw at the Athlone Stadium in Cape Town. Royal Eagles lost 0-1 to Cape Town All Stars at the Harry Gwala Stadium in Pietermaritzburg. Ruzaid Gamaldien scored the goal that separated the boys from the men.
