Local knockout boxing specialist Rofhiwa “Topis Dangerous” Maphupha is set to face the formidable Siseko Teyise in an elimination title fight in East London on 30 June. Teyise, a former South African Junior Flyweight Boxing Champion, boasts an impressive record with three professional fights, all won by knockout.

Maphupha, known for his quick victories, won his last fight against the highly rated KwaZulu-Natal boxer Fanela Mchunu in just 56 seconds. His trainer and manager, Mr. Paul “Cruel Vulture” Masindi, expressed confidence that Maphupha can achieve another swift victory. He dismissed remarks by challengers who view Maphupha as merely a stepping stone to higher titles.

“They think they can beat my boxer and get a chance to fight for both the South African championship and the World Boxing Organization (WBO) Intercontinental championships,” Masindi said. Both belts will be at stake, with the winner set to challenge the current South African champion, Nompumelelo Tshabalala, who also holds the WBO Intercontinental championship.

Masindi emphasised that Maphupha has been well-prepared for the upcoming fight. “Maphupha is unstoppable at the moment,” he stated, predicting that even though Tshabalala has won all his fights via knockout, he will meet his match against Maphupha.
