Warning lights for Dynamos

Sport - Date: 14 November 2003

GIYANI – If the present Castle Premiership League log were the final one, Dynamos and Hellenic Football Club would be facing relegation. The Cape Town "Greek gods" are languishing at the bottom of the log, with two points accumulated from nine matches.

To prove that their defence leaves much to be desired, Hellenic have conceded the biggest number of goals so far. They have scored two goals to date, while their keeper has seen 15 balls going beyond his reach. Back home, the pride of Mopani, Dynamos Football Club, have so far deposited six points into their league account.

Dynamos and Hellenic are the only two teams that are still to win a league match this season. Although Highlandspark Silver Stars have for the first time this season managed to collect full points from their match last Saturday against Hellenic Football Club, they are not yet safe in as far as relegation is concerned. They are tied with Zulu Royals, with seven points each.

Kaizer Chiefs are currently leading the pack with 20 points, after playing nine matches. They drew two and lost one. Ajax Cape Town are lying second, with a gap of two points in between.

Ajax stand a good chance of climbing up the ladder as they have a match in hand. Wits University have so far achieved a record, as no team in the history of the PSL has played nine matches in a row without conceding a goal. Apart from that, Wits University are the only side who are still to lose a league match this season.
