The head coach of the Sasol Women’s League team, Sinthumulekutama Ladies FC, Mr Thikhathali Libago, is optimistic about his team’s chances of securing promotion to the National Women’s Hollywood League by the end of the current season. Sinthumulekutama is currently leading the Limpopo Stream A league.

In an interview with Limpopo Mirror after their 1-0 victory against Sisters FC from Phalaborwa, Libago expressed satisfaction with the team’s performance. He was impressed with how quickly the players had adapted to his coaching philosophy.

When asked about areas he would prioritise to strengthen the squad, the 47-year-old coach emphasised the need to bolster all departments to mount a serious promotion campaign to the higher division.

Regarding targets set by club management, Mr Libago mentioned that he had not faced pressure with specific mandates. “I understand that the league competition is a marathon, but we are prepared to handle the challenges,” he said.

He underscored the importance of managing the players’ mindset in football. “Football is about energy. You have to gauge the players’ energy levels. If they become overconfident, bring them back down. If they get anxious, help them stay calm.”

Libago appealed to local football enthusiasts to support the team during their matches, highlighting the crucial role of community backing in their success.
