Eight teams in Liguluvhe Challenge

Eight teams from villages in Sinthumule and Kutama are gearing up for the Liguluvhe Pre-season Soccer Challenge. The tournament was launched during a ceremony held at Ramantsha Primary on Sunday.

According to one of the tournament organisers, Mr Ronny Ramaligela, this tournament will become an annual event. He applauded the sponsors for helping to identify the talent of the region's youth and added that the youth of the region should be proud of their talent.

The opening matches will take place at Ramantsha Blackpool Grounds. Four matches are scheduled for Saturday. The opening match on Saturday will feature Benny’s Care and Tshikhwani Stone Breakers and will kick off at 09:00. Following that, Mubva All Stars will face off against Madodonga United at 11:00, while Zamenkomste Liverpool will meet Madombidzha Western Stars at 13:00. The final match of the day will see Ramantsha Blackpool taking on Muraleni United.

The semi-final and final will be played on 28 July at the same venue. The champions will receive R5,000, a floating trophy, a soccer kit, gold medals, and a soccer ball. The runners-up will take home R3,000, along with silver medals and a soccer kit. The third- and fourth-placed teams will be presented with R1,000 each.

Kaizer Nengovhela
