Teyise, a former South African Junior Flyweight Boxing Champion, boasts an impressive record with three professional fights, all won by knockout.

The SAFA Vhembe Stream E play-off match between Makhitha Oscar Stars and Tshikhwani Stone Breakers was played under protest on Saturday at Tshifulanani Stadium. Stars won the fiercely contested match 2-1.

Sunday’s Comrades Marathon was a good race for the 16 runners from the Soutpansberg “Skillies” Athletics Club. They all managed to finish the race, and some of them did remarkably well, all things considered.

Well-known local marathon runner Fhatuwani Mudau believes he has done enough to prepare for this year’s Comrades Ultra-marathon. The runner from Khubvi village is determined not to rest on his laurels after receiving his green number (for 10 finishes) but to work towards getting a second green number.

One of the three referees affiliated with SAFA Vhembe who were suspended last month, following allegations of match fixing and accepting bribes to influence the outcome of matches, has since been banned for life from football after a meeting by the disciplinary committee (DC) that was held on 30 May in Thohoyandou.

Following the opening matches of the NTL Mashamba Soccer Tournament, the round-of-16 matches will be played at the Mashamba Post Office Grounds this coming weekend. Four matches will be played on Saturday, with the same number of matches scheduled for Sunday.

The opening matches were played at the same venue over the past weekend. Four matches will take place on Saturday, with the same number scheduled for Sunday.
